I. Check your motorcycle before driving
You should get used to checking the motorcycle before you drive it. Check its basic functions and the safety. Please check as the follows:(If any adjustment or repair needed, please refer to the manual )
The position of the engine oil: To see if it is in the stipulation or not. If any oil is needed, please add the engine oil and check it is leaky or not.
The electrolyte in the storage cell: to check its position and see if you need to add some electrolyte.
The position of the fuel holder: If any fuel needed, please add some and check if it is leaky or not.
Reduction gear oil: The oil quantity reaches the position or not.
Brake: To check the front and the rear brake and adjust them in the proper position. The pad of the brake can not be consumed to the limited level. The disc type brake should be checked to see its arrested liquid is above the gauge marks or not and to see if the brake system is leaky or not.
Tyre: Check the pressure is correct or not. The depth of the shaft of the wheels is over or not. The wheels have the crack or not.
Throttle gate: To check the smooth of the throttle gate.Check if the ties of the rope and the space are complied with the requirements or not. If any adjustments or repair needed, you should do it. Pay attention to lubricate the steel rope to make sure of the smooth of the engine.
Lights, bugle, meter: Check all the lights,bugle and meter workable or not. The redirector is workable or not. Check the convenience and stability of the redirector.
Rearview mirror: Can you see the back sight clearly ?
The tightness of the main components: Screws are tight or not.
The doubtful points still appear or not ?
II. The startup of the engine
Attention: If the motorcycle has not been used for a long time or the oil holder is just filled with the fuel, you should use more time to lightly press the button than ever.
1.Please stand the motorcycle stably by its stand.
2.Use the brake to lock the rear wheel after operation.
Warning: If you do not use the brake to brake the rear wheel, the motorcycle will turn and the turning real wheel will hurt the people unconsciously.
Caution: Only when the brake is operated, can the engine works.
3.Please switch the ignition button to (On) status.
Warning: Do not let the engine run in the sealed room. There are some poisonous carbon monoxide in the gas and it will let you lose the consciousness even die.
4.When the throttle is shut off, press the startup button and lose it when the engine is shut on.
Caution: The time limit for you to start the motorcycle by electricity is not more than five seconds. After you lose the startup button about ten seconds,you can restart the switch button under the condition that the throttle is opened.
When you start the engine and make its temperature high, you should keep the throttle be closed and the rear brake be on the locked stage.
5.Before you start the motorcycle, you must heat the engine.
Warning: Do not quickly turn on and turn off the throttle. Because the motorcycle will suddenly rush forward out of control. When the engine is being heated, do not leave the motorcycle alone. Do not use the electricity to start up the motorcycle.
6.If you need to restart the engine of the motorcycle:
Stand the motorcycle stably and adjust the rear brake lock.
Turn on the throttle to circle of 1/8-1/4 at the same time of turning on the engine.
III. Trial driving the new motorcycle
Whether your new motorcycle can have a long life depends on how you use the motorcycle before it runs within one thousand kilometers. At this stage, the engine can not burden too much so you should not let its highest speed reach the maximum speed of 80 percent. Try to avoid the throttle gate being opened completely.Try to select the appropriate speed so as to reduce the burden of the engine. Since all kinds of components will be worn in the beginning and automatically reach the proper space between each other.(This is needed when an engine runs correctly.)So let the engine runs under the low burden can maintain the motorcycle and lengthen its life. Here are some suggestions:
0-500km
Avoid long time using the throttle gate operation. After one hour,let it stop for ten minutes. Use any kinds of speed to drive the motorcycle and change it often, but the throttle gate should not be over 1/2.
500-1000km
Avoid the throttle gate being opened totally and change the speed often while driving.
More than 1000km
After this special begin period, all the components are adjusted properly. At this period, all the adjustments are prepared well and all the tight fittings need to be retighten again and the dirty engine oil should be changed. Till now, you can drive the motorcycle at the higher speed but you still need to pay attention to the running of the engine and its sounds. By this means, you can judge if the motorcycle is in the perfect working stage or not.
IV. Driving
Engine warm up. After hot/cold state engine starts, make sure to have sufficient idling time before operation and applying load. This allows lubricating oil to flow all components of the engine.
Make sure that the throttle valve (throttle) stands in shutoff condition and rear arrester (brake) in closedown condition before motorcycle escapes from the support by kickstand.
Warning: rear wheel must stand in closedown condition before motorcycle escapes from the support by kickstand. Otherwise, motorcycle would be out of control.
To escape from the support by kickstand, be sure to stand on the left side of motorcycle and push forward.
Get on the motorcycle from the left side and at least 1 of your feet remain on the ground to support the motorcycle.
Let go the rear arrester (brake) to unlock the rear wheel.
Before driving away, be sure to turn on the directional signal to indicate your driving direction.
Please open throttle valve bit by bit to accelerate your motorcycle.
Warning: do not open throttle valve at a rapid because this will lead to an instant movement forward. Before driving away, be sure to fold the kickstand.
To decelerate the motorcycle, please close throttle valve.
Please harmonize the control of throttle and front/rear arrester (brake) when decelerating the motorcycle.
Warning: front arrester and rear arrester should be applied simultaneously when decelerating the motorcycle. Exclusive use of front arrester or rear arrester will diminish the braking effect. Overbrake will lock the wheels and lead to skidding the motorcycle.
When swerving, please close throttle valve and decelerate the motorcycle using both front arrester and rear arrester simultaneously.
After swerving, open throttle valve bit by bit to accelerate the motorcycle.
When driving downhill, close throttle valve complete and decelerate the motorcycle using both front arrester and rear arrester.
Warning: continuous use of arrester will lead to overheat and thus diminish the braking effect.
Be more careful when driving in places where is humid or watery.
Warning: brake force will lessen when driving in places where is humid or watery. Please follow the tips to guarantee a safe drive.
Be more careful when braking, accelerating and swerving.
Drive at a low speed and retain sufficient distance for braking.
Try as possible to have motorcycle stand erect.
Be more careful when driving in smooth places including iron rail, metal plate and etc.
V. Guide to car storing
Caution: please disconnect the anode wire from electric accumulator if your motorcycle is stored for over 1week.You should take action to maintain your motorcycle against malfunction if it is stored for a long time. In addition, you should process proper maintenance work before the motorcycle is stored into storehouse.
Storing
Replace engine oil
Drain the remainder out of tankage and carburetor. Spray the interior of tankage with rust-proof oil. Then re-cover the tankage.
Caution: if your motorcycle is stored for over 1 month, be sure to drain the remainder out of carburetor as so to ensure the normal function when it is re-used.
Warning: gas is inflammable substance. Be sure to process oil drainage when engine is out of service and in place where is ventilative. Be sure to stay away from sparkle and smoking while processing oil drainage.
To prevent cylinder inwall from rustiness, please follow the tips:
Take off the backshell on spark plug and tie it onto the nearby plastic component so as to separate from sparkle.
Twist the spark plug off the engine and put it at a safe place. Do not put spark plug together with backshell.
Fill a spoon of detergent into the engine cylinder. Then cover the spark plug hole with a piece of cloth.
Step the starting lever for times to make the machine oil well-distributed around cylinder.
Re-mount spark plug and backshell.
Dismount the accumulator and expose it in place where is frost avoidable and sun array avoidable.
Check the electrolyte and undertake a slow charge monthly.
Clean, dry and polish the motorcycle.
Wipe a layer of lubricant onto the driver chain.
Before inflation, please underlay your motorcycle with a wood block, which allows no contact between wheels and ground.
Covered with a cloth, motorcycle should be exposed in place where is cool but not humid. Do not park in shiny place.
Export
Take off the outer cover and clean the body. If your motorcycle has been stored for over 4 months, you need to renew the engine oil.
You should re-check the accumulator electrolyte and re-charge the accumulator.
Drain the vaporous rust-proof oil out of tankage and fill up new gas.
Please refer to page 7 for before-drive check. Please process low-speed performance testing in safe area.
Corrective maintenance
If the engine can not be started, please check according to tips given below:
Whether tankage contains sufficient fuel.
Whether fuel can flow into carburetor
Loosen oil drain screw from carburetor to discharge all fuel. Then remount the screw.
Step the kick lever for times.
Loosen oil drain screw to re-check whether there is any fuel remainder inside carburetor.
Next step is to check ignition system.
Warning: Do not spread the fuel everywhere. Do not lay fuel close to high-temperature engine and exhaust pipe. Be sure to stay away from sparkle, smoke and heat source.
Dismount spark plug and connect high voltage wire.
Fix the screw thread of spark plug onto the engine case. Rotate the ignition switch, then press the start button. If ignition system works normal, blue spark flashes between two terminals of spark plug. If no spark flashes, please inquire the local after-sale service point assigned by Tianma.
Warning: do not process test by fixing the spark plug onto cylinder cover. Spark plug may ignite the vaporizing fuel inside cylinder.The outer case of spark plug is made using metal to diminish the possibility of electroshock. To avoid injury from electroshock, those who suffer from heart disease and wear myocardium frequency modulator should not process the test.
If Motor powerless, please check according to tips given below:
Check the fuel supply system inside fuel tank
Check the ignition time of ignition system
Check the idle speed of engine
Caution: before corrective maintenance, you are suggested to refer to Tianma distributor for resolution.
